Good news:

Apple sent me another copy of snow leopard. Also, the original copy mysteriously showed up on my doorstep with the second copy (but no longer in its shipping box). Me thinks the kids downstairs took it, opened it, saw it wasn’t an iPod and then felt bad.

Now my computer is SOOOO much faster.
